CERT Course

February 16, 2022

Free

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Course is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. Over the course of the CERT program, you’ll learn the most up-to-date information through hands-on training in basic disaster preparedness, use of a fire extinguisher, disaster medical care, first aid training, search and rescue techniques, communicating through FRS radios, and neighborhood team building. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. CERT is offered for free to residents of Belmont, Foster City, and San Mateo ages 16 years and older. We are offering two sessions: a daytime and an evening course. The course is a series of seven (7) classes and a “Skills Day”. Registration is required. You must complete all 8 meetings to receive your certification. COVID safety protocols will be followed by everyone participating in the courses.

Wednesday CERT Classes: February 2, February 9, February 16, February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16

Daytime OR Evening Session: 9:30am – 12:00pm OR 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Skills Day: Saturday, March 26 (full-day training)
