CERT Course

Over the course of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, you’ll learn the most up to date information through hands-on training in basic disaster preparedness, use of a fire extinguisher, disaster medical care, first aid training, search and rescue techniques, communicating through FRS radios and neighborhood team building. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. CERT is offered for free to residents of Belmont, Foster City, and San Mateo 16-years-old and older. The course is a series of seven (7) evening classes and a “Skills Day”, which is a full-day training. You need to complete all 8 meetings to receive your certification.
Thursday CERT classes: February 6, February 13, February 20, February 27, March 5, March 12, March 19
Skills Day: Saturday, March 28
